Viktor Gyokeres has voiced his frustration at his lack of game time with Arsenal.
After a protracted striker search 12 months ago, Arsenal forked out a minimum £55m for Gyokeres on the back of a 39-goal season in the Primeira Liga with Sporting CP.
While Gyokeres scored a reasonable 14 goals in his maiden Premier League campaign, the level of his performances left plenty to be desired, and the 28-year-old has started the new season behind Kai Havertz in the pecking order.
Currently on international duty with Sweden, Gyokeres has scored in each of his country's Nations League games against Romania and Poland, in contrast to his club form where he's yet to get off the mark.
Speaking about his lack of playing time, Gyokeres said: "It’s clear that I want to play football as much as possible. Hopefully that will come, too.
"You always want to be on the field as a football player. Of course, you expect more playing time, but we have an extremely good squad with a lot of good players and have been doing well here at the start.
While Gyokeres is unhappy with his amount of time on the pitch, the Swede admits it's up to him to force his way back into Mikel Arteta's plans.
"I obviously need to do better and I’m willing to do it, so it’s no problem," he added. "It’s good [the dialogue with the coach]. I just try to do well when I get the chance and score goals."
