Heimir Hallgrimsson has confirmed his Republic of Ireland team for tonight's UEFA Nations League fixture at home to Hungary.
Ireland will have home advantage for the first time in their 2026/27 Nations League campaign though can expect a sterner test than the one posed by Israel in their 3-0 win on Sunday.
Hallgrimsson's men got off the mark against Israel after losing their Nations League opener 1-0 to Kosovo, and can take a big step towards promotion with a win on Thursday evening.
Hallgrimsson remains without the injured Jack Taylor, Mikey Johnston, Evan Ferguson, Jamie McGrath and Josh Cullen, while captain Nathan Collins is also unavailable. Seamus Coleman wasn't named in the squad having been released from Everton over the summer, though Bosun Lawal's call-up does add to the Ireland manager's ranks.
In a busy international window, Hallgrimsson opts to rotate his side, with Jake O'Brien, Liam Kitching and Jayson Molumby all dropping to the bench, with Liam Scales, Finn Azaz and John Egan called into the starting XI.
Hallgrimsson resists the temptation to rest the in-form Troy Parrott, with the centre forward leading the line once again.
