Dallas Cowboys v Washington Commanders Prediction, Tips and Bet Builder

NFC East rivals the Dallas Cowboys and Washington Commanders will both look for their first win of the 2026 NFL season when they meet at AT&T Stadium on Sunday.

The Cowboys were beaten 28-20 by the New York Giants last week, while the Commanders fell to a 24-22 defeat by the Philadelphia Eagles.

Both teams missed the playoffs in 2025, and the two organisations will be desperate to claim bragging rights in a game that promises end-to-end drama.

Dallas Cowboys v Washington Commanders

Dallas Cowboys v Washington Commanders Prediction

Best Bet: Over 50.5 Points @ 10/11

Both meetings between these two sides in 2025 saw over 50 points scored and another dramatic contest is expected this week.

The Cowboys defence offered very little resistance against the Giants last week, with New York racking up 394 yards at home on offence. Dallas made too many simple mistakes to suggest it was a one-off, and that should give Washington every chance to score several touchdowns.

While the Cowboys offence were not at their best in Week 1, they face a Commanders team that conceded three passing scores, and that will give the hosts confidence that they can rack up the points.

At least 42 points have been scored in six consecutive meetings between the pair and with both teams looking vulnerable defensively last week, we should witness another end-to-end battle.

Alternative Bet: Dallas Cowboys -4.5 @ 20/21

The Cowboys have had the upper hand in recent meetings between the pair at AT&T Stadium, with Dallas winning eight of the last 10 encounters in front of their own supporters.

Dallas scored 40 points or more in three of their home games last season, and their recent record against Washington is tough to ignore. Quarterback Dak Prescott has given the Commanders nightmares since his NFL debut, with a 13-2 record against them.

The Commanders' secondary looked below par last week and the Cowboys' best asset is their wide receivers. CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens should be able to rack up impressive numbers here and help the Cowboys cover the spread.

Prescott attempted 34 passes last week and avoided being sacked, and while the Commanders' pass rush may pose more of a threat than the Giants did, this is still a fixture he usually dominates.

Against an average Commanders secondary, he should find his rhythm early, and it would not be a surprise to see him pick out wide receiver Lamb for a touchdown.

Lamb scored a touchdown and caught five of his eight targets last week and he looks good value to add another.

The Cowboys ace finished the 2025 campaign with 1,077 receiving yards, but only three touchdowns, and Prescott should be able to find him in the end zone this week against a Commanders team who have struggled in Dallas.

Prescott threw five touchdown passes against the Commanders last season, and his record against Washington is hard to ignore, especially in a game at AT&T Stadium.

Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels rushed five times last week for 31 yards against the Eagles, and he should be on the move regularly this week.

Daniels is one of the league's leading dual-threat QBs and ran for 35 rushing yards or more in five of his seven games before suffering a season-ending injury in 2025.
