Hull City 9/2 to finish above Leeds United in the 2026/27 Premier League season

Check out the latest odds for newly-promoted Hull City to finish above their Yorkshire rivals Leeds United in the 2026/27 Premier League season.

After a decade outside the top flight, Hull City are back in the Premier League.

The Tigers were among the favourites to be relegated from the Championship last season after surviving the previous year by the skin of their teeth.

In his first season in English football Sergej Jakirovic was forced to contend with a transfer ban that meant Hull were unable to sign any players for a fee.

In spite of the challenges however, Hull consistently outperformed expectations, securing a place in the play-offs on the final day of the season before a stoppage-time goal from Oli McBurnie saw them triumph over Middlesbrough at Wembley.

Preparations are now well underway at the MKM Stadium ahead of the coming campaign, with Hull owner Acun Ilicali claiming that a war chest of more than £200million will be available for Jakirovic to overhaul his squad.

A return to the top flight will also mean Hull are reunited with their Yorkshire rivals Leeds United.

After being in the drop zone in December, Leeds underwent a dramatic transformation in the latter half of last season and ultimately finished the campaign well clear of the relegation places.

Hull City are 9/2 to finish above Leeds in the Premier League table next season, with Daniel Farke's side 1/7 to sit above their Yorkshire rivals when the campaign comes to a close.

While Leeds have enjoyed more success of the two clubs in recent years, Hull have an exemplary record against the Whites, both at home and at Elland Road.

In the last 12 meetings between the two clubs dating back to 2017 Hull have emerged victorious on seven occasions with Leeds winning just twice.

The most recent meeting came in January 2025 in a thrilling 3-3 draw as late goals from Abu Kamara and Joao Pedro saw the Tigers rescue a point at the MKM Stadium.

When Leeds next travel to Humberside on 30th December it will mark the first time the two clubs have ever met in the Premier League.

While Hull hold the advantage when it comes to head-to-head meetings over the two clubs in recent years, Leeds have enjoyed consistently better league placements of late.

In fact, the last time Hull sat higher than Leeds on the football pyramid was all the way back in 2016-17 when they were relegated from the top flight whilst Leeds finished 13th in the Championship table.
