The 2024/25 Europa League campaign was the first to introduce the now-standard 36-team league phase format, with UEFA also doing away with the transfer of teams from the Champions League knockout phase.
Manchester United were the only team to progress from the league phase unbeaten, and they would ultimately reach the final where they were joined by Tottenham Hotspur.
At the San Mames Stadium in Bilbao it was Spurs that won out, with Ange Postecoglou keeping his promise of silverware in his sophomore season thanks to a first-half goal from Brennan Johnson.
While both sides had a wealth of talent at their disposal, the distinction of the most valuable player in the tournament as a whole actually went to Victor Osimhen, whose Galatasaray side had been eliminated in the knockout phase play-offs.
In spite of their exit however the Nigerian striker remained one of the most in-demand talents in the competition, with his six goals putting him joint-second on the scoring charts.
Spurs had the most players in the top 10, with Christian Romero rated as their most-valuable in third.
Meanwhile Rasmus Hojlund and Leny Yoro were the only players from the losing finalists to earn a place on the list.
