Saratoga hosts a good card on Saturday night with four Grade 1 races on the card, the highlight being the Whitney Stakes.
Last year’s best three-year-old, Sovereignty once again looks to get back to winning ways, but he has been disappointing of late. Magnitude is unbeaten this year and will look to make it five wins in a row, while the sole filly in the field, Nitrogen, cannot be discounted.
Earlier on the card there is UK interest in the Saratoga Derby Stakes with Hugo Palmer and Simon and Ed Crisford both saddling runners.

Explora was one of the best juvenile fillies last year, and although she has not won all her starts this year, she has been running well every race.
The three-year-old returned to winning ways in a Listed contest when last seen and, provided she turns up in the same sort of form, she is the one to beat.
This is her first trip to Saratoga, but given she has raced and won at multiple courses, the travel and new venue should not be a concern.
The Bob Baffert-trained filly looked to find the 1m1f at Churchill Downs in May too far, having not quite got home, but the drop to 7f last time suited her well.
She races over 7f once again and it looks to be her optimum trip,. so she should have too much speed and class for the rest of the field.
22:52 Saratoga - Glacius @ 10/1
Our second selection comes in the Saratoga Derby Stakes over 1m1½f on the turf. The Simon and Ed Crisford-trained Title Role won a Grade 1 at the course last month, but it is the other UK-trained runner Glacius who gets our vote to deliver for Hugo Palmer.
He ran well in a Group 3 at Royal Ascot over 1m2f, not being beaten far, ultimately having too much to do from the rear of the field, and then ran well to be a good third in a Listed contest at Sandown, once again having too much to do.
Both these races represent strong form, and the addition of first-time cheekpieces should be a big positive for the son of Too Darn Hot. He can land a first success at the highest level.

There is no denying Sovereignty has been disappointing this season and on paper this is an extremely good and competitive race with numerous Grade 1 winners in the field.
Magnitude is unbeaten this season and will be tough to beat. The same owners also run Nitrogen, who won in a romp over this course and distance in June, and also boasts her best form at the course with three wins and a second-placed effort.
But Sovereignty also boasts his best form at the course, with wins in the Belmont Stakes, the Jim Dandy Stakes and the Travers Stakes last year.
A return to the course of his biggest successes could reignite Sovereignty, and provided he retains the ability we saw in his three-year-old season, can get back to winning ways and prove himself the best in his year.
