Ryan Moore runners at Royal Ascot

Ryan Moore heads into Royal Ascot as the most successful active jockey at the meeting with 92 winners and he seems sure to add to that tally in the coming days.

Moore has been leading rider at the Royal meeting on 12 occasions, with his finest week coming in 2015 when he set a new post-war record of nine winners at a single Royal Ascot.

Moore is the dominant international Group 1 rider of his generation and remains the number one jockey for Aidan O'Brien's all-conquering Ballydoyle team.

Here's a look at some of his outstanding chances coming up at Royal Ascot alongside a list of all his booked rides.

Horse Racing

Gstaad - St James's Palace Stakes (Tuesday, 16:20)

Odds: 9/4

Gstaad proved no match for Bow Echo in the 2,000 Guineas at Newmarket early last month, but the O'Brien-trained colt has since run out an easy winner of the Irish Guineas at the Curragh.

Now he's set to cross swords once more with George Boughey's unbeaten Rowley Mile Classic winner in the day one feature.

Gstaad won the Coventry Stakes on this card 12 months ago, giving him crucial Ascot course experience Bow Echo doesn't have, but can he turn the tables?

Confucius - Coventry Stakes (Tuesday, 15:05)

Odds: 15/8

No trainer has enjoyed more Coventry Stakes glory than O'Brien, with 11 wins, while Moore has partnered five of those Ballydoyle winners starting with Power in 2011 and most recently with Gstaad last year.

Confucius was beaten by a nose on his debut on soft to heavy ground at the Curragh under Moore, but has obliged since at Naas over 6f on better ground and with Wayne Lordan riding.

Moore seemingly prefers this son of No Nay Never over stablemate Great Barrier Reef - winner of both starts at the Curragh, including a Group 3 last month.

Port Of Spain - Queen's Vase (Wednesday, 15:05)

Odds: 7/1

Port Of Spain trumps plenty of his rivals in the Queen's Vase for experience and was a close third behind this month's Epsom Derby winner Christmas Day when they clashed in a Leopardstown Group 3 in October.

The St Mark's Basilica colt has only been out once since, running fifth in the London Gold Cup at Newbury over 1m2f in first-time cheekpieces in last month's comeback.

He steps up in trip at Royal Ascot in a contest Moore is bidding to win for the seventh time in his career.

Minnie Hauk - Prince Of Wales's Stakes (Wednesday, 16:20)

Odds: 8/1

Frankel filly Minnie Hauk takes on the boys in the Prince Of Wales's Stakes on Wednesday needing to rebound after a disappointing effort in last month's Tattersalls Gold Cup at the Curragh when she was only fifth as odds-on favourite with Moore on board.

She had made a winning comeback in a Group 3 at the County Kildare venue previously and this will be a first visit to Ascot for last year's Chester, Epsom, Irish and Yorkshire Oaks winner.

Scandinavia - Gold Cup (Thursday, 16:20)

Odds: 5/4

Moore now has four Ascot Gold Cups on his CV following the wins of Kyprios in 2022 and 2024. He's retired since and many are comparing Scandinavia to that Ballydoyle star.

Last season's St Leger hero is 2-2 already this season, including the Levmoss Stakes over a mile-and-three-quarters at Leopardstown last month and hopes are high that his stamina will be a major asset in this Group 1 marathon.
