Colombia didn't quite have things go their own way for the first hour or so against Uzbekistan in their World Cup opener.
The debutants levelled things up with 30 minutes to go, but late goals from Luis Diaz and Jaminton Campaz saw the South Americans seal a 3-1 victory, going top of Group K in the process.
DR Congo shared the spoils with Portugal in their opening match of the tournament, securing an impressive 1-1 draw.
Despite trailing 1-0 after just six minutes, the Elephants battled back and that was their first-ever point at the tournament following three losses in 1974.
Best Bet - Colombia to win @ 8/15
Alternative Bet - Luis Diaz to score or assist @ 21/20
Bet Builder - Luis Suarez to score anytime, Yoane Wissa 1+ shot on target & Aaron Wan-Bissaka to commit 1+ foul @ 5/1
Best Bet: Colombia to win @ 8/15
Colombia were made to battle for their first win at the World Cup since 2018 against Uzbekistan.
That 3-1 victory sets them up nicely for the clash against DR Congo, however, and a win will guarantee Nestor Lorenzo's men a place in the knockout stages.
Los Cafeteros have now won three successive matches and have lost just twice since March 2025. Those defeats came against Croatia and France during the March international break.
DR Congo, on the other hand, have not tasted victory since defeating Jamacia 1-0 in the Inter-Confederation play-off final back in March. They drew with Denmark before losing to Chile 2-1 ahead of the World Cup.
Given the fact another win will send Colombia through, expect Lorenzo's men to deliver another solid performance.
Alternative Bet: Luis Diaz to score or assist @ 21/20
Luis Diaz shone against Uzbekistan. Not only did he score the goal that put Colombia back into the lead, but the Bayern Munich winger also provided an assist for Daniel Munoz to open the scoring in the first half.
He was a menace throughout his time on the pitch and Lorenzo will be expecting more of the same from him in the second group game against the Elephants.
Across 75 appearances for his country, Diaz has scored 23 goals and recorded eight assists. Don't be surprised to see him add to his tally in either metric here.
Luis Suarez to score anytime
Yoane Wissa 1+ shot on target
Aaron Wan-Bissaka 1+ fouls committed
Pays 5/1
Luis Suarez came into this tournament having scored 38 goals for Sporting CP during the 2025/26 campaign.
The forward has also netted five goals in 13 appearances for Colombia and hopes are high he can add a few more to that tally in North America.
Against Uzbekistan the 28-year-old failed to register a shot, although he did cause several problems and was fouled three times. Lorenzo will likely give him another chance in the starting XI and he could open his tournament account against DR Congo.
Yoane Wissa did get on the scoresheet during matchday one, netting the equaliser against Portugal.
Despite a woeful season at club level for Newcastle United, the forward looked lively and he could be his side's talisman at this World Cup.
He was a handful against the Portuguese defence, who fouled him three times during the game, suggesting Lorenzo's side will have to keep an eye on Wissa.
Aaron Wan-Bissaka to commit one or more fouls during the match is the final leg of this bet builder.
He committed one foul in the opening game and, considering he is going to be up against Diaz, the former West Ham defender might have a torrid time of things.
