Take a look at the latest odds to be England's top goalscorer at the 2026 World Cup.
Despite his goal record, Harry Kane hasn't always been at his best in major tournaments for England. His six goals in 2018 were enough to win the World Cup Golden Boot, though only one came from open play and even that was an effort that deflected off the then-Tottenham man.
Kane was England's top scorer at Euro 2020 and Euro 2024 but his two goals at the 2022 World Cup saw him pipped by Marcus Rashford and Bukayo Saka, who bagged three each.
The Bayern forward enters this summer's tournament in the form of his life and has genuine Ballon d'Or claims, though England's lack of passing options could see the 32-year-old dropping deeper into a more creative role, with the likes of Anthony Gordon, Jude Bellingham, Morgan Rogers, Rashford and Saka all capable of finding the net for the Three Lions.
Penalties were a huge factor in England's tournaments under Gareth Southgate. Shoot-outs aside, Kane scored three penalties at the 2018 World Cup, scored a rebound from a saved penalty at Euro 2020, scored from the spot at Euro 2024 and memorably took two penalties against France at the 2022 World Cup, scoring one and blazing another over the bar.
Kane remains on penalties for the Three Lions, though Gordon stepped up in the friendly against Costa Rica after Kane had been subbed off, and the Barcelona forward may be an option from 12 yards.
