EFL Fantasy grows in popularity with each passing season and the 2026/27 campaign marks the third edition of the game that covers the Championship, League One and League Two.
Enabling you to pick a brand new team of seven players every week with no concerns about budget or transfers, EFL Fantasy is refreshingly different to the Fantasy Premier League and provides you with an opportunity to show off your knowledge of various clubs and the lower leagues.
Finding a hidden gem is one way to get the advantage over your friends and rivals, but EFL Fantasy also features two chips which can be used to enhance your score throughout the season.

EFL Fantasy Chips
Max Captain
Where Fantasy Premier League has the revered Triple Captain, EFL Fantasy provides you with a Max Captain chip.
Available to use twice across a season, Max Captain automatically selects your highest scoring player as your gameweek captain.
That means you don't have to worry about your captaincy selection for that gameweek, as the player who has scored the most points will receive the armband and earn double points to maximise your total.
The Max Captain chip is perfect for double gameweeks or even triple gameweeks, where some teams play as many as three times across seven days.
You must use your first Max Captain chip before February, otherwise it will be lost and it will not roll over.
To activate Max Captain, simply select the lightening bolt icon on the 'My Team' tab, and then click 'Apply'.
One Club
The One Club chip is perfect if you're willing to go all in on an EFL team during a single gameweek.
The chip overrides the two-player rule and allows you to pick as many players as you like from a single club. You can utilise the full seven, or you can pick and mix between one club and others.
Like the Max Captain chip, this is advantageous when entering a double gameweek or if one club has a triple gameweek with appealing fixtures.
The One Club chip can only be applied once during the season.
To use it, tap the lightening bolt icon on the 'My Team' tab, and then click 'Apply'.
