ATP Masters 1000 records Jannik Sinner can break this year

Jannik Sinner's imperious form at Masters level in 2026 was summarised by a 6-1 6-2 dismantling of Alexander Zverev in the Madrid Open final.

The Italian barely broke a sweat as he dispatched second seed Zverev in 58 minutes to become the first male player in history to win five consecutive Masters 1000 titles, as well as becoming the first player to complete the 'season first quadruple'.

Triumphant at Indian Wells, Miami and Monte-Carlo before dropping just one set on his path to glory in Madrid, Sinner's supremacy across the last eight weeks puts him in pole position to secure a fifth Grand Slam title at the French Open in June.

Sinner is a short-priced 2/5 favourite to banish the heartache of his astonishing final defeat to Carlos Alcaraz last year and become the third-youngest player to complete the 'Career Slam'.

Sinner's charge for an elusive French Open title has been aided by the absence of his distinguished rival Alcaraz, who will miss the tournament due to a wrist injury.

But before Sinner heads to the French capital, he has one more Masters 1000 event to contest in Rome - and more records could be in the offing.

Most Masters titles in a season

Surpassing Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal in winning five consecutive Masters 1000 titles, Sinner also has the record of most Masters titles in a season within reach.

Currently on four in 2026 after emerging victorious at Indian Wells, Miami, Monte-Carlo and now Madrid, Sinner has five more opportunities to surpass Djokovic's record of six Masters 1000 titles in a single season, which he achieved in 2015.

Only Djokovic, Nadal and Roger Federer have won at least four Masters 1000 titles in an individual campaign.

Most Masters wins in a season

23 matches, 23 wins so far this season in Masters events for Sinner.

The most wins in a single season again belongs to Djokovic, who won 39 of his 41 matches during the 2015 campaign.

Nadal currently ranks second in this list with 35 match wins during 2013.

Longest Masters winning streak

Success over Zverev in Madrid marked Sinner's 28th consecutive match win in Masters 1000 events to move him within touching distance of illustrious company.

The Italian requires three more victories in a row to equal Djokovic's record of 31 Masters 1000 wins in a row, which he set in 2011 during a phenomenal run from the Indian Wells Masters.

Djokovic went close to surpassing his own record in 2015 as he recorded a 30-match winning streak, while Federer assembled a 29-match winning run from the Hamburg Open in 2005 to the Monte-Carlo Masters final in 2006.

Most different Masters tournaments won

Sinner is yet to add the Italian Open title to his decorated trophy cabinet but if he is triumphant in Rome, he will join Federer and Djokovic in winning nine different Masters 1000 tournaments.

The 24-year-old has won at Indian Wells, Miami, Monte-Carlo, Madrid, Cincinnati, Montreal, Shanghai and Paris.

Second player to achieve the 'Spring Sweep'

Another accolade Sinner will collect if he is victorious in the Italian Open will be the 'Spring Sweep', which refers to one player winning the three clay-court Masters events - Monte-Carlo, Madrid and Rome.

Rafael Nadal is the only player in history to achieve this feat and even the Spaniard completed it just once despite his unparalleled supremacy on clay, winning all three titles in 2010.
