Belgium vs. Egypt Prediction & Best Bets

Unbeaten across their last 13 international matches, Belgium will look to get their 2026 FIFA World Cup campaign off to the perfect start as they face Egypt in Seattle on Monday.

Both nations will be acutely aware that any form of opening success could all but pave the way for a place in the last-32.

For Belgium, this is a landmark tournament as they make their 15th appearance at the World Cup, the most of any European nation to have never won the competition.

For Egypt, this is their fourth appearance in the competition, though they’ll be hoping for some improvement as they’ve never before won a single World Cup encounter.

Belgium vs. Egypt betting picks and predictions

Half-Time/Full-Time - Belgium/Belgium (+150)

Unbeaten across their last 13 international outings, Belgium head into the 2026 FIFA World Cup in fine form, now not losing since all the way back in March 2025.

That stands them in good stead to make a deep run in these finals, and after putting five goals past both the USA and Tunisia during their pre-tournament warm up friendlies, it’s their attacking firepower that is likely to see them advance from Group G.

Blessed with a plethora of attacking options that include Napoli and former Manchester City legend Kevin De Bruyne, expect the Red Devils to make a quick start in this opener, something they’ve done frequently across their most recent fixtures.

In fact, Rudi Garcia’s side have struck in the first half in four of their last five matches, three of which have then seen them lead at the half time break.

They will need to be wary of Mo Salah and his Egyptian teammates, as they enter the tournament on the back of losing just one of their four pre-tournament matches.

That only defeat did come last time out in a 2-1 loss to heavyweights Brazil though, and with Belgium also ranking inside FIFA’s top 10 at present, the Pharaohs could struggle again here against very tough opposition.

Jérémy Doku to score anytime (+250)

Towards the back end of the 2025/26 season with Manchester City, Jérémy Doku found some real form in front of goal, netting five goals and producing two assists across his final 10 matches with the Citizens.

He then carried that fantastic form into his Belgium performances prior to this tournament, grabbing two assists against Tunisia in his side’s 5-0 victory last time out, a continuation of his brilliant displays for the Red Devils.

Across his eight qualification matches for this showpiece event, Doku struck five goals in total, a tally that only several players could better across the European nations.

Next, he’ll look to net for the first time at a major tournament for his country, and against Egypt who have struggled defensively of late, he could break his duck at the first time of asking.

Over 2.5 goals (+100)

Netting four or more goals in seven of their last 11 international fixtures, Belgium head into this tournament as one of the most potent attacking teams.

Their last fixture saw them defeat fellow World Cup participants Tunisia 5-0 with ease, and with only Norway netting more goals in total across UEFA qualification, more goals look likely to follow here.

But Egypt also carry a dangerous attack of their own, with Mo Salah and Omar Marmoush helping them to put three goals past both Benin and the Ivory Coast during their 2026 African Cup of Nations campaign.

They also defeated Saudi Arabia 4-0 back in late March during one of their final warm up matches for this tournament, and having netted against Brazil just last week, it wouldn’t surprise to see them get on the scoresheet again in this one.
