Lamine Yamal is the most obvious proven young star that will be at the 2026 World Cup, and is the outright favorite to win the Young Player of the Tournament award with the Spanish National Team. Yamal is already one of the best players in the world at 18-years-old, but could miss multiple games due to an injury sustained at Barcelona.

PSG teammates Désiré Doué and Warren Zaïre-Emery are more rock solid contributors for their club and country, but on a deep French team, minutes may be sparce for the pair.

Lennart Karl is another major young talent, but has been overshadowed by the huge stars who fill Bayern Munich's roster day in, day out. Karl is an attacking midfielder already accustomed to scoring UEFA Champions League goals, and can now put his talent on full display on the world's biggest stage alongside Florian Wirtz and Jamal Musiala.

Arda Güler and Endrick are both Real Madrid youngsters with a chance to shine this summer. Endrick is a forward for the Brazilian National Team, so he should get plenty of opportunities to score with elite midfielders and playmakers around him.

Güler, with his Turkish teammate Kenan Yıldız, will be the best creators on a hopeful Turkish National Team that will compete with the United States in Group D.

Yan Diomande is a recent breakout after playing high school soccer in the United States just four years ago. The Ivory Coast international is on the verge of a big money move this summer to one of the top teams in Europe, with Liverpool, PSG, Bayern Munich and more linked to a potential transfer, and the price will go up if he can propel his nation to the knockout rounds of the World Cup.

Mexican National Team wonderkid, 17 year old Gilberto Mora is the youngest player on this list, and is a real talent in El Tri's midfield unit. Mora currently plays for Tijuana in Liga MX, and starred for his country at the U-20 World Cup last year.

Kerim Alajbegovic and Esmir Bajraktarevic are two names who have an opportunity to shine. Both players crucially helped their team topple Wales and Italy in the UEFA World Cup Playoffs earlier this year, putting in veteran-like performances both matches.
