Who Could Hit a Home Run in the Phillies vs. Diamondbacks Game? - 9/1

The Philadelphia Phillies started off strong taking the win in the first of a three game series at the Arizona Diamondbacks.

In the National League, the playoff race is heating up as the Phillies reduced their magic number for a postseason berth to 19 following their win last night. Bryson Stott scored a solo home run, crushing it 464 yards making it the longest home run of his career. Bryce Harper followed with a double, scoring Garret Stubbs to make the score 2-0.

For Arizona, Gabriel Moreno drove in Geraldo Perdomo with a double down the left-field line in the third inning, but the team ultimately fell 2-1. The Diamondbacks now sit a half-game behind the San Diego Padres for the final NL Wild Card spot.

Tonight's game begins at 9:40 PM ET, all eyes will be on the Diamondbacks and if they can respond to a red-hot Philadelphia team.

Who Could Hit a Home Run in the Phillies vs. Diamondbacks Game?

Ketel Marte (+350)

Ketel Marte returned to the Diamondbacks' lineup last night as a designated hitter and was met with boos from the home crowd. The three-time All-Star went 1 for 3 at the plate, with a single and a walk.

Ketel Marte can be particularly dangerous against left-handed pitchers because he's a switch-hitter, allowing him to bat right-handed tonight against Jesus Luzardo. His bat speed and plate discipline give him the ability to punish mistakes, making Marte a difficult matchup for Luzardo.

Bryce Harper (+550)

Bryce Harper is firing on all cylinders heading into September. A key player in Philadelphia's lineup, he finished August with a .333/.469/.573 slash line, recording 8 doubles, 5 home runs, 32 hits, and 14 RBI's. Harper played a pivotal role in the Phillies winning 21 games throughout August.

Last night, Harper hit a RBI double off the center field wall allowing Stubbs to score. He has the type of power that can change a game with one swing, and if he can continue this momentum, it will only be a matter of time until he hits his 28th home run of the season.

Alec Bohm (+850)

Alec Bohm has proven he can provide meaningful plays in big moments, recently having a walk-off two-run triple in extra innings against the the St. Louis Cardinals on August 21 that led the Phillies to a 7-6 victory.

He has hit 14 home runs so far this season and is known to be above-average against left-handed pitchers, which could be favorable in tonight's matchup with Eduardo Rodriguez on the mound.
