American Tennis star Tommy Paul will face polish player, Hubert Hurkacz in the third round of the Wimbledon Championships.
New Jersey native Tommy Paul is back in action on Friday, taking on Hubert Hurkacz. Paul defeated Alexandre Muller and Soon-woo Kwon in straight sets to reach the matchup against Hurkacz.
Paul, 29, is the 25th ranked men's tennis player in the world according to ATP.com, and has a 30-12 record so far in 2026. The American finished runner-up to Francisco Cerundolo at the Queen's Club Championships in the build up to Wimbledon, showcasing is ability to go deep into tournaments on a grass surface.
At Wimbledon, Paul has a 12-4 record in four Wimbledon Championship appearances. Paul's best finish in the tournament was in 2024 when he lost in the quarterfinal to Carlos Alcaraz.
Hurkacz has lived a very similar career to Paul. Also 29, Hurkacz has eight career titles, but has struggled so far in 2026. The polish players best appearance at Wimbledon came in 2021 when he lost in the semifinals to Matteo Berrettini.
Paul vs. Hurkacz will be the third match on Court 2 on Friday, July 3rd.
