San Jose Earthquakes vs. Orlando City Preview & Lineup Predictions

MLS is back, and the Quakes host Orlando on Wednesday, July 22.

Orlando City has been busy this summer, and have brought in the legendary Antoine Griezmann, and resigned former club standout Daryl Dike during the current transfer window.

Both Griezmann and Dike are expected to be available for Orlando against the San Jose Earthquakes, significantly boosting the already potent offense. Orlando currently sit in 13th place in the Eastern Conference, but the attack has not been the issue so far this season.

Orlando City have conceded 44 goals through 15 games in MLS, which is the most in the league and on pace to break the MLS record for goals conceded.

San Jose, on the other hand, has been one of the surprises of the 2026 MLS season. Led by legendary American coach Bruce Arena, San Jose currently sit second in the Western Conference and have scored the third most goals in MLS this season (34), tied with the Western Conference leaders, the Vancouver Whitecaps.

The Quakes' revival has stemmed from the signing of former German international Timo Werner, and the breakouts of forward Preston Judd, midfielder Niko Tsakiris, and winger Ousseni Bouda.

Judd is challenging for the league's Golden Boot, leading the team with 11 goals in 15 appearances. Tsakiris leads the team with four assists in addition to two goals. Werner has four goals and three assists in seven matches, and Bouda has five goals and one assist.

The porous Orlando City defense will have multiple clinical attackers to deal with tonight, but leading creator, Tsakiris, will be sidelined with an injury.

Soccer Team News

Orlando have two new additions to the squad including 2018 World Cup winner Antoine Griezmann with France. They have also resigned their former striker, Daryl Dike, after he left West Brom in the English Championship.

Dike just joined Orlando recently, and will likely be an option off the bench for coach Martin Perelman.

Orlando will be without their leading scorer, Martin Ojeda (thigh), Joran Gerbet (knee), Nolan Miller (knee), Colin Guske (international duty) , and Clovis Archage (international duty).

Marco Pasalic is also not expected to be in the team after playing for Croatia in the World Cup, and was not in training on Monday. Perelman expects Pasalic back soon, but he is not likely to be available tonight.
