Michigan is a hot topic of conversation this week after a highly controversial, last-second Hail Mary touchdown from Bryce Underwood to JJ Buchanan, which defeated Western Michigan 13-12. Fans around the country were baffled by where the extra time came from after Underwood's first Hail Mary attempt was unsuccessful.

To compete with Oklahoma, Underwood will absolutely need to improve drastically. The former five-star recruit was 12-of-22 for 170 yards passing. His only reliable target was Buchanan, who caught six passes for 126 yards, including the 47-yard bomb on the final play of the game. The Wolverines also struggled to run the ball, with Underwood leading the team with 47 yards on the ground.

Regardless, Western Michigan shut down the Michigan offense for 59 minutes and were denied a huge upset. The result saw Michigan drop out of the AP Top 25, and they now face a difficult test against the Sooners.

Oklahoma rolled past UTEP in the opening game of the season, winning 51-0. Quarterback John Mateer threw for 225 yards and three touchdowns, while running back Lloyd Avant ran for 79 yards and a touchdown on 15 carries.

Although they absolutely dominated in their opener, Oklahoma dropped from 10th to 11th in the AP Top 25. Head coach Brent Venables will surely have his Sooners ready to compete against their Big Ten opponent at the Big House.
