Game 6 of the Stanley Cup Final is here, as Carolina looks to win their first Stanley Cup since 2006 and Vegas looks to keep their hopes alive in front of their home fans.
The Hurricanes have won two-straight games and are thriving with confidence. They have attacked the Golden Knights from multiple angles in this series, but let's not forget about an absolute powerhouse of a lineup in Vegas.
For what will be a dramatic contest, use our Hurricanes vs. Golden Knights preview and predictions to your advantage.
After going down 1-0 and 2-1 in the series so far, Carolina has really stepped up their game and look poised to become 2026 Stanley Cup champions.
In this series, Carolina has thrived on special teams (37.5% power play and 86.7% penalty kill), dominated the faceoff dot (56.3%), and have outshot Vegas by a full two shots per game.
They have lots going for them and are 7-1 on the road during these playoffs.
Goaltending has played a massive role in the series and will likely be a major factor yet again. Vegas goaltender Carter Hart has been abysmal all series, giving up four goals in all five games, with a .856 save percentage.
Meanwhile, Fredrik Andersen's inconsistent play and a potential injury has brought in Brandon Bussi, who looks calm, cool and collected, and there is lots of faith behind him that he can get the job done and earn his third-straight win in a Game 6 Stanley Cup clincher.
We knew Carolina was elite and, while a short sample size of a two-game winning streak, they look like they can't be stopped.
A Game 6 win will finally close out years of elite teams and underachievement and I see this team emptying the tank, laying it all on the line and winning the Stanley Cup.
Jack Eichel is one of the elite Golden Knights and, while he may not wear the C on his jersey, he is looked at as the face of the team.
With that being said, I expect Eichel to be a menace on the ice in a do or die game. Vegas certainly needs it.
Eichel has amassed just two goals over his 21 playoff games this year. This is a red flag, but his points (22) and overall play more than make up for it.
27+ goals in each of his last four seasons and 90+ points in each of his last two give me no hesitation on his offensive generating ability.
He has been quiet in the shot category as of late, with five shots over the last four games. However, he is being used like a workhorse by John Tortorella (20:33+) in each game this series) and I expect a large number of minutes played.
Carolina has proven they can lock up some key Vegas scorers, so offense will need to come directly from his stick in Game 6.
It has been a quiet postseason for Hurricanes forward Seth Jarvis, scoring just 11 points in 18 games.
What is more concerning is his four goals thus far. This comes as a shock to many as he has scored 32+ goals in each of his last three seasons, including a career best 0.45 goals per game average during this regular season.
The 24-year-old has remained battling hard for this team, with one goal and two assists in his last four games, along with a combined total of nine shots and playing 18:30+ in each contest. Admirable, but we know he can burst at any time.
Head coach Rod Brind'Amour has faith in Jarvis and, while he's got a lot of brilliant weapons to deploy, Jarvis should and has remained a big piece.
With the Hurricanes just one win away from glory, I expect their key players to show up, including their leading goalscorer Jarvis finding one.
