Two teams with impressive playoff resumes rightfully meet in the Stanley Cup Final, beginning Tuesday, June 2nd - the Vegas Golden Knights and Carolina Hurricanes.
The Carolina Hurricanes utterly dominated the Eastern Conference on their way to their first Stanley Cup Final appearance since 2006 - which they ended up winning.
Carolina is 12-1 in the playoffs after sweeping Ottawa in the first round and Philadelphia in the second round. The Montreal Canadiens put up more of a fight in the Eastern Conference Finals, but the Canes were still victorious in five games - including a 6-1 decimation in Game 5.
Vegas, meanwhile, had question marks regarding their playoff strength of schedule entering the Western Conference Finals against the Colorado Avalanche, but they proved they're worthy of being in the championship.
The Knights beat the Utah Mammoth and Anaheim Ducks each in six games, but ended up sweeping the Avs will stellar defensive and goaltender play.
The Canes are explosive on offense and have an elite goaltender in Frederik Andersen, but the Knights are well-balanced, play sound defense, and have an extremely hot goalie in Carter Hart.
