Bruins vs Stars Predictions, Player Props & Best Bets

Boston Bruins and Dallas Stars are set for a Tuesday night showdown at the American Airlines Center in Dallas.

The Bruins enter this matchup with a 7-2-0 record on the young season. Boston has reeled off five straight wins, and have out-scored their opponents 25-8 in that span.

Meanwhile, the Stars are 4-3-1 to start the 2026-27 season. Dallas returns home for this matchup after picking up back-to-back road wins over the Avalanche and Blackhawks.

Puck drop for this matchup is slated for 8 p.m. ET.

Boston Bruins vs. Dallas Stars betting picks and predictions

Stars ML (-172)

Despite being on a five-game heater, the Bruins find themselves as significant underdogs in the eyes of professional oddsmakers for this matchup. The Bruins have made light work of each of their last five opponents, but heading to Dallas to take on the Stars presents a bigger challenge.

Most notably, the Stars are among the best defensive teams in the NHL. Nothing comes easy against Dallas, as their strong defensive structure does a great job of preventing Grade A chances. On the season, the Stars are allowing just 1.50 goals per game, which is the best mark in the league by a wide margin. Furthermore, Dallas is allowing a league-low 22.6 shots on goal per game. The Bruins' offense has been rolling, but the Stars have what it takes to slow them down.

The Stars also have a well-rounded forward group that is arguably the best in the NHL. They haven't been lighting the lamp at an otherworldly rate to start the season, but the potential is there night in and night out.

Boston is also playing its fourth consecutive road game, so they could be dealing with some tired legs.

Playing at home, look for the Stars to end the Bruins' winning streak at five.

Under 5.5 (+100)

Dallas goaltender Jake Oettinger is sporting a 1.00 goals-against average to go along with a stellar .952 save percentage so far this season. He's already racked up three shutouts, and should be able to slow down Boston's hot offensive attack.

The Bruins could be due for some offensive regression. Boston ranks 4th in the NHL scoring 3.78 goals per game despite ranking 23rd in shots on goal per game with 25.4. Oettinger is off to a scorching hot start between the pipes, and he should be able to give the Bruins fits.

The Stars are a strong defensive team, but the Bruins have been able to stymie their opponents as well. Boston has allowed just eight total goals over their last five games, and goaltender Jeremy Swayman is rocking a 1.85 goals-against average with a .934 save percentage. Both Oettinger and Swayman are expected to get the starting nods in this one, meaning we could have a great goaltending duel on our hands.

With a total of 5.5, the under is the play here.
