The NHL season begins on Tuesday, September 29th.
Every team technically has an equal chance of making the NHL playoffs before the first puck drops, but the betting odds say something different.
Before the season starts, the Colorado Avalanche have the shortest odds to make the NHL Playoffs, priced at -1600. Meanwhile, the Vancouver Canucks have the longest odds to make the playoffs this season, priced at +800.
The Avalanche have not missed the playoffs since the 2016/17 season, and the odds makers seem to believe that streak will continue for a 10th straight season.
