Week 4 of the 2026 NFL season sees the first London series game take place as the Indianapolis Colts take on the Washington Commanders.
Indianapolis will come into the game with a 1-2 record, having beaten the Houston Texans 19-17 last week.
Washington has the same record, and they too head to London with a spring in their step after beating the reigning champions, the Seattle Seahawks, 33-31 last time out.
Both defenses have struggled this season, but both organizations also have problems on offense and Sunday's showdown promises to be a close battle.
Washington produced the biggest shock in the NFL in Week 3 as they beat the defending champions without their starting quarterback.
Jayden Daniels' elbow injury kept him on the sidelines, but veteran Marcus Mariota stepped in and threw three touchdown passes in a stunning 33-31 win.
While Washington's offensive line was exposed at times, the Seahawks' defense is one of the best in the business and the Colts have struggled on both sides of the ball.
Indianapolis has coughed the ball up at least once per game on offense, while they have conceded 91 points on defense, only one fewer than their opponents.
The Colts' best weapon is their rushing attack, but Jonathan Taylor has yet to average 4.0 yards per carry this season.
Washington has the third-best rush defense in the NFL and they have shown they have a little more firepower on offense.
The Commanders have scored at least 20 points in all three games and with Colts quarterback Daniel Jones yet to find his rhythm, Washington can unsettle him and cover the spread this week.
With both defenses struggling to stop the opposition, it would naturally make sense to back the overs. However, the Colts' rushing offense has been average so far, while Jones's form is worrying.
Washington may welcome back Daniels, but he is set to wear a brace on his dislocated elbow, which may reduce the impact he can have.
The Commanders have only averaged 182 passing yards per game on offense, so if the Colts stuff their run game, it is hard to see where they rack up the points.
Dan Quinn's Washington could also be without running back Rachaad White, who picked up a shoulder injury against the Seahawks. While White was able to return to the game, if he is put on a snap count, it reduces the potential of the Commanders' offense.
A trip to London is also not ideal. Both teams would prefer to play in the USA and after two tough battles last week, there is every chance that fatigue plays its part after a chaotic few days.
When a quarterback is struggling, it makes sense to lean on a reliable pass catcher and Colts wide receiver Josh Downs is just that.
The 25-year-old finished with his best figures of the 2026 season against the Texans, having caught five of his 11 targets for 77 yards.
Downs has now been targeted 20 times in two games and has surpassed 70 receiving yards in both of those outings.
With Washington conceding the second-most passing yards in the NFL with 280.3, Downs should be able to find enough space to make his mark.
