Lindsey Heaps Injury Update & Potential Return Date

Denver Summit FC captain Lindsey Heaps is listed as day-to-day while while dealing with a minor knee injury.

Heaps is dealing with swelling in her knee from an injury that she sustained prior to the Summit's match against the North Carolina Courage in NWSL. She was also held out of the Summit's following matches against the Utah Royals, San Diego wave, and Portland Thorns.

Heaps joined her hometown NWSL expansion team, Denver Summit FC, this summer after a three-year stint with OL Lyonnes in France. The USWNT star played three games for Denver, picking up one assist before going down with the knee injury.

The Denver Summit medical staff are monitoring her process, and will proceed with caution in order to protect her long-term availability for the team.

Denver Summit currently sit 12th in the NWSL (four points out of an NWSL playoff spot) with a 6-6-8 record for 24 points.

The Denver Summit will play the Chicago Stars at Centennial Stadium on Friday, August 29th at 8:45 PM EST, 6:45 PM MST (local).
