Kevin Vallejos (18-1-0) took another big scalp in his first UFC Main Event appearance against Josh Emmett at the Meta Apex on March 14.

Vallejos is 4-0 in the UFC and gets this opportunity following a KO/TKO win over Emmett.

Dana White's Contender Series

It took the Argentinian fighter two attempts on Dana White's Contender Series to get signed by the UFC.

At just 21 years of age, Vallejos was outpointed by Jean Silva in his first contract attempt in 2023, his only career defeat to date.

Silva has since gone on to make a huge statement in the Featherweight division, where he currently occupies the number six spot in the rankings, racking up a 6-1 record, with five stoppage victories.

After two wins back on the regional scene, Vallejos TKO'd Cam Teague in the first round in September 2024 to earn his place in the UFC.

UFC run so far

Vallejos fought three times last year, opening up with a debut first-round win over Seung Woo Choi in March.

A unanimous decision victory over Danny Silva followed in August, before the now 24-year-old stopped veteran Giga Chikadze with a second-round spinning backfist and elbows finish in December.

Short for the division at 5'7" (170cm), Vallejos has a frame and boxing style that has drawn comparisons with Ilia Topuria.

He often fights patiently on the outside but has devastating power when he closes the distance, as his 12 KO/TKOs from 17 wins suggests. 

A switch-hitter, Vallejos is also strong in the clinch and his two submission victories also show that he is no slouch on the ground either.
