Gavin Williams is looking for a masterful outing in the most important game of his career: a win-or-go-home Game 5 of the ALDS versus the Chicago White Sox.
Williams made an appearance in Game 4 to help the Cleveland Guardians stay alive in Chicago, and he'll get a full workload today.
Cleveland's ace didn't allow a run and struck out one batter in his one inning outing in Game 4 - his second appearance of the series. Williams also started Game 2 of the series and struck out 11 batters in five innings, though he allowed two runs in that outing.
After going in an 0-2 hole at home, Cleveland's offense was scorching hot in Chicago in games two and three scoring nine runs in each game. Getting some run support for Williams will be key back in Ohio.
