Established way back in 1894, the Chicago White Sox started as the Sioux City Cornhuskers before settling into Chicago as the White Stockings in 1900. Their name was shortened to the White Sox in 1904, and they've played at Rate Field in South Side Chicago since 1991.
The White Sox won two World Series championships in the early 1900s, headlined by their 1906 win against the cross-town Chicago Cubs.
Along with winning in 1906 and 1917, the 1919 club made the World Series, but at least eight players were found to be intentionally losing for cash - dubbed the Black Sox Scandal.
Chicago has been one of the league's worst teams for three-plus years, but with young talent such as Colson Montgomery and Munetaka Murakami on the squad now, things might finally be looking up on the South Side.
The White Sox are in the AL Central division, where they compete against the Kansas City Royals, Minnesota Twins, Cleveland Guardians, and Detroit Tigers.
