Phoenix Suns All-Star Devin Booker has missed the last six games with a right ankle sprain that he suffered on Jan. 23.
We'll take a look at where he's at in his rehab progress and when the Phoenix Suns star could potentially return to play.
At the time of injury, the Suns announced that they would re-evaluate him in a week. It's now been almost two weeks, and Booker hasn't taken the court yet.
Duane Rankin of the Arizona Republic reported that Suns head coach Jordan Ott said "Book is making tremendous progress...obviously been on the court multiple times" on Sunday, Feb. 1.
The Suns have been a big-time surprise this season, sitting at No. 6 in the Western Conference with a 31-20 record. Their defense has been elite, and without Booker during this stretch, they've gone 4-2.
Dillon Brooks, Grayson Allen, and Collin Gillespie have done a great job filling in for Booker and the ever-injured Jalen Green. That being said, there's no doubt Phoenix wants Booker's services back as soon as possible.
The 5x All-Star is averaging 25.4 points and 6.2 assists per game while shooting 45.6% from the floor along with playing sound defense on the perimeter.
Considering the initial one-week timetable, along with Ott's recent comments, it can be assumed that Booker returns to the court very soon.
He will most likely be questionable for each game moving forward until he feels comfortable enough to test the ankle in a game. The Suns have four more games, all at home, until the All-Star break.
It might be smart for Book to return for the Feb. 11 game against the OKC Thunder (a second night of a back-to-back) to get a feel for the game again before resting it during the break.
If the Suns want to be extra cautious, they could wait until after the break to bring him back. That would mean Booker would return to action on Feb. 19 at San Antonio.
