De'Aaron Fox Injury Status & Return Date

The Spurs' starting point guard De'Aaron Fox has not appeared in the Western Conference Finals through two games, but could be ready to play Game 3 on Friday night.

Fox has watched the first two games of his San Antonio Spurs playoff series against the Oklahoma City Thunder from the sidelines due to an ankle injury.

Fox has not played since the Spurs defeated the Minnesota Timberwolves in game 6 of the second round series, where he aggravated a pre-existing ankle injury that he was toughing out in the series.

Fox's official injury is reported as a high left-ankle sprain. The 28-year-old's injury is not said to be serious, and with a brace he will likely play important minutes for the Spurs this series.

In Fox's absence, rookie guard Dylan Harper has stepped into the spotlight. Harper had a fantastic game 1, but injured his adductor in game 2.

Is De'Aaron Fox Playing in Game 3 vs. Thunder?

Fox is considered a game-time decision on Friday night, and has a 'questionable' designation.

Shams Charania of ESPN reported that Fox is progressing in his recovery, but still dealing with soreness in his left ankle.

A final call will be made by Fox and Spurs' medical staff before Game 3 tips off at 8:30 PM ET in San Antonio.

Harper is also a game-time decision for game three. If both players are unavailable, expect to see the Spurs go big, with 6th Man of the Year winner Keldon Johnson sliding into a starting role.
