Spanish tennis star Carlos Alcaraz has announced his return to the ATP Tour, ending a nearly four-month absence due to a wrist injury. He is set to compete in the upcoming US Open.
Alcaraz confirmed his comeback with a creative "Here we go" video on his Instagram profile, a collaboration with renowned football transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano.
"I'm back," or "Estoy de vuelta" as the Spaniard wrote on social media, celebrating his long-awaited return to the court. His last official match was on April 14 at the Barcelona Open, where he defeated Otto Virtanen in straight sets in the first round.
The wrist injury, which had raised significant concerns in recent weeks, now appears to be behind him. Alcaraz has been training in Murcia, Spain, alongside fellow recovering player Holger Rune.
The Spaniard will now travel to New York to defend his US Open title, which he won last year in a memorable final against Jannik Sinner. Meanwhile, the participation of the current world number one, Sinner, remains uncertain as he continues to deal with recent knee issues.
