The American jumped onto the tennis scene at a young age, turning prop in 2016, and winning the US Open Girls' singles title in 2017.
Anisimova's highest career singles rank was #3 in January 2026, rising up the ranks in 2025.
In that 2025 final, Anisimova didn't win a single game against champion Iga Swiatek, and she surely hopes to reach that stage again - and this time stay competitive. She's on the verge of breaking into the caliber of Swiatek, Coco Gauff, and Aryna Sabalenka, but she'll have to prove it first.
She made quick work of Lina Gjorcheska in a straight-set first round win and now draws Kenin in the second round.
Kenin is a Russian-born American who won the Australian Open in 2020. Her best finish at Wimbledon came in 2023 when she made the third round, and she'll be looking to match that finish tomorrow morning.
These two Americans have faced off against each other three times in their career, however they haven't played against each other on grass yet. Kenin has taken the two most recent meetings, including a semifinal victory at the 2025 Charleston Open on clay.
