Thursday sees a stellar renewal of the Yorkshire Oaks take place at the Ebor Festival.
Nine will head to post for the Group 1 contest that will see proven class clash with up and coming talent, with plenty of the Classic generation chancing their arm in receipt of weight from their elders.
Of the established performers, Kalpana and Minnie Hauk are the standout names.
Kalpana is expected to go off favourite for the race after putting up a career best performance last time out when winning the King George at Ascot. She has proven herself to be an extremely consistent and classy operator down the years and victory here will surely see her contest the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe at Longchamp in October.
Speaking of the Arc, last year's runner-up will be hoping to get her career back on track when she jumps from stall four on Thursday. Minnie Hauk was brilliant when landing this race in 2025, but has been soundly in each of her last three starts.
Her effort last time out was surely too bad to be true and she could bounce back to form at a track she has proven her liking for in the past.
Attempting to bridge the gap to her elder rivals is runaway Irish Oaks winner Johanna Walsh. She sprang something of a surprise when plundering Group 1 honours at the Curragh, however, there was no doubting the way she did it.
A repeat of that may make her dangerous; especially when getting a chunk of weight off the front two in the market.
Despite being an older performer, Tattycoram arrives here as somewhat of an unknown quantity in this sphere.
Seeking a hat-trick, her victory in the re-routed Lancashire Oaks was quite clearly the best performance of her career, and if she improves on that, has to have a huge chance.
The form of that particular success has aged well too, with runner-up Tiffany subsequently winning the Group 1 Grosser Preis von Berlin at Hoppegarten.
