Ger Lyons' Francillon was turned over at odds-on at Leopardstown last month, but the son of Frankel still ran to a good standard and most certainly shouldn't be written off.
He showed real promise on his debut at Killarney the previous month.
Slowly away in a race full of big-race entrants on his introduction, he appeared unlikely to trouble the judge for much of the way.
However, suddenly he clicked into gear inside the final half-furlong and flew late to grab second behind Paddy Twomey's City Of Dubai, who has since gone on to finish a respectable fifth in a Group 2.
The two-year-old pulled clear of Joseph O'Brien's Zarak Pasha on that occasion, that colt having taken the scalp of one of Tuesday's opponents, Dancinginthecity, on his next outing.

A first runner in Britain for powerful US owners Repole Stable Sc (US entrepreneur Mike Repole), Watch Party performed with plenty of credit on her debut for Roger Varian at Newmarket last month. The 300,000gns purchase shaped like that experience would bring her on a bundle.
Strong in the market (13/8f from 9/4), she travelled kindly behind the leaders under Robbie Downey, but found herself short of room when the race developed and took time to get organised when the first and second were sent for home.
She kept on nicely under sympathetic handling, hitting the line strongly, albeit over four lengths off the first two.
There's a suspicion she'll not fully come into her own until tackling a mile and possibly beyond.
However, she holds entries in the Group 2 Rockfel Stakes and Group 1 Fillies' Mile back at Newmarket in the coming weeks and could outclass today's rivals.
19:30 Wolverhampton - Stipulation @ 11/2
The Mark Loughnane-trained Stipulation landed back-to-back handicaps at this stage last year and should make a bold bid under leading apprentice Jack Callan.
The five-year-old has been running creditably in defeat for some time, but he's now back on the same mark of 60 as when landing this corresponding event 12 months ago.
He showed plenty of resolution when second at Chepstow last month, sticking on doggedly behind the progressive Crimson Road, who has since completed a hat-trick.
A wide draw is a bit of a concern, but there's a fair run to the first turn and a big effort at Wolverhampton, a track where he often excels (his top four career performances have come over this course-and-distance).
