Wrexham boss Phil Parkinson has assured supporters that the club are working tirelessly to add further quality to their squad as they seek another Championship promotion push, although warned they may have to bide their time in getting deals over the line.
Despite enjoying a productive first season back in the second tier, the Welsh side - who had won promotion in three successive campaigns - narrowly missed out on a play-off spot, with Hull City edging out the Dragons and Derby County on the final day.
Wrexham are expected to challenge again in 2026/27 however, with celebrity owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney set to fund more significant transfer business to help strengthen Parkinson's hand.
The Hollywood stars spent over £40 million to fund a major summer rebuild 12 months ago, and could match that outlay this time around in a bid to enhance their chances of reaching the Premier League.
Parkinson has already drawn up his summer hit-list, one which is reported to include the likes of Swansea's Ethan Galbraith and Sunderland's Anthony Patterson, with the 58-year-old hopeful of welcoming new additions through the Racecourse Ground's doors over the next few months.
"We are pretty clear in the areas we would like to add and as ever, we are working very hard to achieve that," he told the Leader at the weekend.
But sometimes the work at this stage of the summer is very much unnoticed because it is speaking to agents and certain players, and making sure we are in the loop with people we want to bring in.

"The World Cup always slows down elements of the market and we are expecting that will be the same - I am not anticipating a lot of movement in the next few weeks."
Parkinson signed 16 players throughout the 2024/25 season, 13 of which were acquired prior to the closure of the summer transfer window.
Whilst he says future additions will add even greater strength in depth to his group, he is convinced that there is still even more to come from the players who have arrived over the past year, especially with the benefit of a first full pre-season at the club.
"We have got a good squad to go into pre-season with," added the Reds' boss. "If you look at the numbers coming back for pre-season, we have got a strong squad.
"Like every year, every other clubs in the division are always looking to improve and we will be doing that but equally, we are looking forward to having a full pre-season with the team we put together last year as well.
"A lot of that improvement I feel will come within the existing group. I think there is more to come from the group we have got and that is really important.
"I think we will improve anyway with the lads we have got and if we can add to that as well, that is obviously the aim.
"We are looking forward to having good full pre-season with the group we have got and if we add to that as we go along, that will be to help the squad we have got in place at the moment."
