There has already been a couple of significant upsets in Leicester and I am sure that even more will follow, which is why I have included a couple of outsiders to defy their odds within my acca for Wednesday night's action.
First up, I have taken Ryan Joyce to beat Danny Noppert. Both played enjoyed superb victories in their first round ties, with Joyce taking out six-time winner Michael van Gerwen.
Truth be told, there isn't an enormous between these two players but I just feel that Ryan's quality on that favoured double 16 of his will prove significant, and I can see him getting away quicker and taking the match in a deciding set.
For my second selection I am backing the ever-reliable Jonny Clayton to keep alive his World Grand Prix hopes with victory over Wessel Nijman.
Jonny loves the camera, he relishes playing on the big stage and I just think he is going to be too consistent for Wessel to contend with.
The Dutchman is a player I really like and his record on the floor speaks for itself, but he hasn't yet been able to really replicate that form in the televised majors; something I expect to continue here.
Gerwyn Price faces Ross Smith in a really intriguing battle; especially given Ross has been in such explosive form as of late, as proven in him winning the World Series of Darts Finals.
Can he now go and back that up with another title charge, potentially, but this is a really tough draw for him now -- one that has been made even more difficult given Luke Littler has been knocked out.
Gerwyn is always fired-up but he will have even more wind behind his sails now with the Nuke, who was in his half of the draw, being dumped out.
Finally, I am picking Luke Woodhouse, the man of the moment, to come a cropper in his next match after stunning the darts world with that victory over Littler.
He will be full of confidence no doubt, but how often do you see players record monumental victories only to then fall at the next hurdle!
I can see that happening here -- Nathan is a superb player who grows in stature the longer he is in these events, and I just have a feeling that everything will come together tonight for him to mover in to the quarter-finals.
