Krzysztof Ratajski to beat Dave Chisnall (8/15)

Krzysztof doesn't really get the respect he deserves, because he is a superb player who possesses the quality to win major titles.

He is coming up against Dave Chisnall in his opening assignment and whilst Chizzy was a force a few years back, his form has deteriorated somewhat since.

I think this could be a scrappy game but I am expecting the Polish Eagle to soar through to round two.

Nathan Aspinall to beat Cristo Reyes (4/6)

Nathan Aspinall is the epitome of a big occasion player -- he just loves the televised stage!

His form on the floor may not be great, but he more often than not delivers in the PDC ranking events and I am expecting him to go well in Germany this weekend.

This is a great first match for him against an opponent who is still working their way back from a long absence, and I am expecting him to come through unscathed.

Jonny Clayton to beat Nico Springer (4/11)

Jonny Clayton plays with so much confidence nowadays and he always has that glint in his eye where you feel he genuinely believes he can lift the title.

Nico Springer is a decent operator himself though and possesses exceptional scoring power -- it's his finishing that tends to let him down however.

Jonny has to be careful here because he can't afford to take the German lightly. If he doesn't then he should advance to the last 16.

Wessel Nijman to beat Martin Schindler (1/2)

Wessel Nijman is a genuine force to be reckoned with, and I have stated several times that he will get his hands on multiple major titles during his career.

He just needs to make that big TV breakthrough, which could very well be this weekend.

Martin Schindler is a very capable player in his own right though and he will back himself in this match, but I just think Wessel will have that extra bit of quality and composure.
