Former Watford man Adrian Blake is at the centre of a three-way transfer tug-of-war as clubs in England and Scotland attempt to seal a cut-price deal for the young forward.
The 20-year-old has established himself as one of the hottest properties in the Dutch top-flight after breaking into the the first-team fold at FC Utrecht two years ago.
However, with talks regarding a contract extension at the Stadion Galgenwaard breaking down, it has seemingly put numerous clubs in the United Kingdom on watch, with Sky Sports reporting that at least two Championship sides have already registered 'concrete interest'.
Wolverhampton Wanderers and Burnley, both of whom dropped out of the Premier League last season, are both understood to have opened talks with Utrecht, whilst Celtic are also long-term admirers.
Blake's desire to secure a return to the United Kingdom, three years on from departing Watford for the Netherlands, has all but ended Utrecht's hopes of retaining one of their most prized assets, with reports overseas suggesting a £2.5 million package could be enough to tempt them to part ways.
The attacker has just one year left of his existing deal and the Eredivisie side will be hoping that Blake's availability will spark a bidding war in the coming weeks.
Blake has netted nine times in 62 appearances for Utreg and rose to significant prominence when he bagged a spectacular goal against Celtic in the UEFA Europa League last season.
The Bhoys have kept close tabs on the player since, along with both Wolves and Burnley, with others in the Premier League and Championship having scouted him in recent months too.
Turkish side Kasimpasa saw a January bid rebuffed and media speculation in Turkey suggests they could still launch a second move ahead of the upcoming 2026/27 campaign.
But their hopes of landing their long-term target are diminishing though with the player believed to prefer a move back to England or Scotland.
