What games could Rangers manager Derek McInnes miss through suspension?

Newly-appointed Rangers manager Derek McInnes could be in line for a suspension for breaching rule 72 of the disciplinary guidelines when overseeing Hearts' title charge back in May.

The former Jam Tarts man criticised a penalty awarded to Celtic in stoppage time against Motherwell, branding the referee's decision as "disgusting".

Kelechi Iheanacho converted the 99th-minute penalty to grant Martin O'Neill's side a 3-2 win, and the difference between a win and a draw for the Hoops at Fir Park ultimately proved decisive in the title race -- with the Glasgow based outfit trumping Hearts to the Scottish Premiership by two points.

Elliot Watt -- who played and scored in Motherwell's 3-2 defeat against Celtic -- also breached the Scottish FA's disciplinary rule 72 when labelling the penalty decision as "the worst VAR decision in history", and the midfielder was subsequently handed an immediate four-match suspension, which he will carry out at the start of the 2026/27 season.

McInnes' Scottish FA hearing is reportedly set to take place on 22nd July, but the verdict is yet to be confirmed.

In the event that the Rangers manager is handed the same punishment as Watt -- a four game suspension -- we take a look at which games that he would have to watch from the stands at the start of the 2026/27 Scottish Premiership season.
