West Brom closing in on £1.3million deadline day signing

West Brom have reportedly agreed a deal to sign French full-back Brayann Pereira from NEC.

After finding themselves embroiled in a relegation battle last season the Baggies have enjoyed a positive start to the Championship campaign under James Morrison.

No fewer than 13 senior players have joined West Brom this summer and it appears that their transfer business is not yet over as the look to get a move for Pereira over the line.

According to Dutch outlet VI, Pereira has travelled to the West Midlands to complete a medical ahead of a deadline day move to the Hawthorns.

The transfer is worth a reported £1.3million, and official confirmation of the move is expected imminently.

Pereira is said to have been the subject of multiple transfer enquiries over the course of the last 12 months, with the Eredivisie side only now willing to sanction a sale as he enters the final twelve months of his contract.

After graduating from Lens' youth team, Pereira later joined fellow Ligue 1 side Auxerre before initially moving to NEC on loan in 2023-24.

A series of impressive performances at the Goffertstadion saw NEC exercise their purchase option for Pereira - who represented France at multiple youth levels and was named in the Team of the Tournament for the 2022 UEFA U19 European Championship.

In his three years at NEC Pereira has made 66 appearances in all competitions, including four in their UEFA Champions League qualifying campaign last month.
