Tottenham Hotspur v Everton tips from the Football Betting Club

Tottenham are still to get off the mark in the Premier League this season and welcome Everton to North London on Saturday evening.

Despite their heavy transfer spend over the summer, Roberto De Zerbi is yet to find a winning formula that includes all of his new stars, suffering defeats against Brentford and Newcastle before earning their first point against Nottingham Forest last weekend.

Although they are yet to score in the league, some encouragement can be taken from aspects of their performances so far this season.

Everton have started much better and a lasp-gasp Ainsley Maitland-Niles strike against Manchester United maintained their unbeaten record. The Toffees' failure to recruit effectively over the summer has been well-documented but, at least for now, they are churning out important results with what they have.

The Football Betting Club's Gavin Horsfall, Matthew O'Regan and Steve Freeth have each picked out a selection to create a 15/2 Bet Builder ahead of the game.

Leg 1: James Tarkowski 1+ shots

Matthew said: "I've gone for James Tarkowski to have a shot: he's had a shot in all three games [so far] this season and Everton will look to put a great onus on attacking set-pieces. When Tottenham played Forest, Cunha and Murillo both had a shot, Botman managed one for Newcastle and Ajer and Collins managed three between them for Brentford.

"He's [Tarkowski] is a big aerial threat against a Tottenham side who -- as good as Van Hecke is -- isn't the best aerially. Everton will look to dominate Tottenham in the air, so yeah, a Tarkowski shot at around 6/5."

Leg 2: James Tarkowski to be fouled 2+ times

Gavin said: "I'm also with Mr Tarkowski - this time to be fouled two or more times at 7/4. [He was] fouled three times at Bournemouth, twice at Palace; like I say, 7/4 to be fouled two or more times this weekend.

"My instinct took me to the 12/5 to make two or more fouls, you know, an old-school centre-half rocking about the penalty area causing chaos and upsetting a few referees with these new set-piece rules. But, I'll let the data guide me here, it absolutely suggests otherwise.

"So, James Tarkowski to be fouled two or more times."

Leg 3: Micky van de Ven 1+ shots

Steve said: "Van de Ven for me! The troubles are there for Spurs, yet to win a game and yet to score a goal. But, although Everton will have enjoyed that injury time equaliser [against Manchester United], they also had one against Bournemouth. I think if those goals hadn't had gone in, there would be more frustrations from Everton fans. Not with David Moyes as such, but what has been going on off the field.

"Van de Ven had two big efforts at Forest last week -- one was a big chance -- and he got two against Everton in this fixture last year. So at around 5/6, I think it's worth sticking in the Bet Builder against Everton."
