Ahead of the third-place play-off between France and England, we have taken a look at the last 10 different teams to finish third at the World Cup.
England will be looking to join the list this evening after losing both of their previous World Cup third-place play-off matches in 1990 and 2018.
Croatia are the most recent team to finish third after beating surprise semi-finalists Morocco 2-1 in the Bronze Medal match in 2022.
Four years earlier, England had lost to Croatia in the semi-finals before being beaten 2-0 by Belgium in the third-place play-off.
Netherlands came third at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil when they beat the host nation 3-0, with Brazil unable to recover from their semi-final humiliation against Germany.
The 2006 and 2010 World Cups saw Germany finish third on both occasions after beating Portugal and Uruguay respectively.
There is also a place on the list for the likes of Sweden, Italy and Poland who are all amongst the last 10 third-placed teams.
