Women’s world number one Aryna Sabalenka has found form at the perfect time as she targets a third straight US Open title and she is a strong favourite for her quarter-final clash with Wimbledon winner Linda Noskova.
Sabalenka has struggled somewhat this season, failing to win a title since reigning supreme at the Miami Open in March, but she has been formidable in the recent hard-court Majors.
The top seed has made three consecutive US Open finals, winning in 2024 and last year, while she has also been involved in the last four Australian Open finals to show her growing dominance on the game.
Sabalenka has barely broken sweat on her way to the quarter-final in New York, recording four straight-sets victories, but Noskova is undoubtedly her toughest opponent yet.
The Czech talent is seeded sixth at Flushing Meadows, helped by winning her maiden Grand Slam title at Wimbledon in July, and she has impressed with her battling qualities.
The 21-year-old has recorded three-set wins over Ann Li and Marta Kostyuk and will be hoping to claim another big scalp in Sabalenka, who has won both of their previous rivalries 2-0.

Best Bet: Aryna Sabalenka to win 2-0 @ 10/11
Sabalenka has a dominant US Open record, having a 23-3 tournament record since 2021, and is bidding to make her sixth straight semi-final in New York.
The world number one has won back-to-back titles at Flushing Meadows and the manner of her performances on the way to the quarter-final suggest she is closing in on the peak of her powers.
Sabalenka has had a soft section to deal with but she can only beat what is in front of her and she has recorded four straight-sets victories.
Breaking Taylor Townsend’s serve seven times in the last 16 bodes well and, while this is tougher against Noskova, she may simply be too powerful.
Sabalenka has won both meetings with Noskova 2-0, triumphing 6-3 6-4 against the Czech at Indian Wells in March, and her record at this tournament speaks for itself.
Alternative Bet: Over 5.5 breaks of serve @ 6/5
While Sabalenka is expected to stamp her dominance, her hunger to hit winners can contribute to double faults and often leads to a high number of breaks of serve.
Sabalenka won 6-4 6-3 against Townsend in the fourth round but there were 11 breaks of serve and that means that there have been seven or more breaks in three of her four tournament wins.
Noskova’s last two US Open matches have seen break totals of eight and 11 and two players that like to go on the front foot should create plenty of drama.

Sabalenka is unbeaten at the US Open for three years, having won titles consecutively in 2024 and 2025, and her superiority should continue in this quarter-final clash with Noskova.
When Sabalenka defeated Noskova 6-3 6-4 in the semi-final at Indian Wells in March and on that occasion she had 11 aces. In their opening encounter in 2023, the top seed also had 12 aces.
