The final Grand Slam of the season is upon as the world's best players descend on Flushing Meadows in New York City for the US Open.
One of the oldest professional tennis championships in the world, the US Open has been the scene of several remarkable British triumphs, not least Andy Murray's maiden Grand Slam title in 2012 and Emma Raducanu's shock success in 2021.
US Open 2026 Prize Money Breakdown
Ahead of this year's tournament, US Open organisers announced a 20% overall increase in prize money compared to 2025 with the total fund reaching a record $108million.
From the $108m (which equates to approximately £79.5m) pot, a total of $37.84m is allocated to the men's singles and the same sum is available for the women's singles.
Every round of the men's and women's singles will be rewarded with increased payouts.
In line with the equal prize money offered for the fourth and final Grand Slam of the tennis season, the champions will both take home a substantial $5.5m.
