Swansea City have reportedly launched a £7 million move for Valencia star Andre Almeida as the Championship club ramp up their summer recruitment drive.
The Welsh club have already secured five high profile captures during the off-season, with the likes of Joseph Opoku, Leo Walta and New Zealand's World Cup star Elijah Just all checking in at the Liberty Stadium.
Now, with just over two weeks remaining until the Swans kick-off their Championship campaign at Stoke City, it appears as though they have made their most ambitious move to date.
According to reputable Spanish media outlet Marca, Swansea have made an official bid of around £7 million for midfield maestro Almeida, who has established himself as a mainstay in the Valencia team.
The 26-year-old has made 96 appearances for the club since signing from Vitoria Guimaraes three years ago, and only penned a fresh contract extension at the Mestalla Stadium last November.
However, after falling out of favour with Carlos Corberan during the latter stages of the 2025/26 season, Swansea have made a beeline for his signature as they look to further strengthen Vitor Matos' hand ahead of the new campaign.
Marca are reporting that Valencia are willing to part ways with the midfielder this summer and will be hoping that Swansea's move triggers a bidding war for the talented Portuguese man.
Almeida, who has featured in both the UEFA Champions League and Conference League during his time in Spain, has previously caught the attention of Premier League sides Aston Villa and Brighton & Hove Albion.
But whilst they failed to follow up their interest with concrete moves, Swansea have put a package together which is under serious consideration from the La Liga club.
It remains to be seen as to whether Almeida himself would be willing to ply his trade in the English second-tier however, or wait for a more appealing opportunity on the continent.
