Swansea City are in talks to sign Joseph Opoku from Belgian side Zulte Waregem, according to reports.
Opoku enjoyed an impressive campaign in the Belgian Pro League last season, as Zulte Waregem managed to avoid relegation on their return to the top flight.
The 20-year-old made 34 appearances for the club in all competitions, and proved integral to their efforts in the closing stages of the campaign.
He was his team's top goalscorer in the relegation play-offs, netting five goals in as many starts as they went unbeaten to avoid the drop.
Opoku was named the league's Player of the Month for April and despite Zulte Waregem retaining a two-year extension option on his current contract it appears he will depart for pastures new this summer.
Belgian outlet Het Belang van Limburg reported on Sunday that concrete talks have taken place between Swansea and the club surrounding a permanent deal for Opoku.
However while discussions are said to be in full swing, an agreement is yet to be reached.
Turkish side Trabzonspor have also been linked with a move for Opoku but Swansea are understood to be leading the chase to secure his signature at present.
After finishing 11th under Vitor Matos last season Swansea have already enjoyed a busy start to the transfer window.
Earlier this month the South Wales club signed winger Moussa Yeo on a four-year deal for an undisclosed fee.
Meanwhile the trio of Stephen Welsh, Staitham Bowen and Joe Davis have joined on free transfers from Celtic, Brentford and Peterborough United respectively.
