Spain v Cape Verde Player of the Match odds

Take a look at the latest odds for Player of the Match as Spain take on Cape Verde on Monday evening.

It's hard to make a case for Cape Verde getting anything out of their tie with La Roja, and knowing that a win against Saudi Arabia in their final game could be enough to secure a place in the knockout rounds, keeping the score respectable may be their main priority.

For Spain, they know their World Cup fate won't be decided in Atlanta, and Luis de la Fuente will likely be making sure his players get through the game unscathed with a win virtually assured.

Much of the talk around Spain's World Cup campaign has been regarding the fitness of Lamine Yamal. The Barcelona star missed the end of the season through injury, and while De la Fuente insists Yamal is 100% fit, there's little reason to risk him against Cape Verde, with the winger's minutes likely restricted.

Nevertheless, Yamal is favourite to be named Player of the Match in Spain's World Cup opener ahead of their main goal threat Mikel Oyarzabal. Rodri is third favourite ahead of Spain's other attacking threats in Ferran Torres, Nico Williams and Dani Olmo.

On the off chance Spain are frustrated by their vastly inferior opponents, goalkeeper Josimar Vozinha will need to have the game of his life, and the 40-year-old is the shortest priced player to win Player of the Match for Cape Verde.

Odds will display when market is available.
