Formed in 1920, the Spain Men's National Football Team is one of the most successful sides in international football, winning the 2010 FIFA World Cup and a record four UEFA European Championship titles (1964, 2008, 2012, 2024), including a historic three consecutive major international tournament wins from 2008 to 2012. They also added the UEFA Nations League trophy to their collection in 2023.
As well as their success in earning silverware, Spain have popularised the "tiki-taka" style of play, which is widely seen as some of the most attractive brands of football to be played.
Legendary players from this era include Xavi Hernández, Andrés Iniesta, Iker Casillas, Sergio Ramos - the most capped player in Spanish history - and David Villa - who still remains the all-time leading scorer for the national team. To date, three Spaniards have won the Ballon d'Or - most recently Rodri in 2024.
