Sheffield Wednesday have reportedly agreed a deal to sign Aston Villa defender Sil Swinkels this summer.
The Owls have been busy since the end of last season as they prepare for life in League One.
The club has already swooped to make three signings following the confirmation that they will not face a points deduction next season.
Ricardo Santos and Jordi Liongola have arrived from Swansea City and La Louviere respectively, while former Motherwell midfielder Callum Slattery also joined on Monday.
They now look set to complete their fourth summer signing, with journalist Jacob Tanswell reporting that a deal has been finalised between Sheffield Wednesday and Aston Villa for the transfer of Swinkels.
It is claimed that the Villans are set to make a profit on the £180,000 fee they paid for the defender back in 2020.
After arriving from Vitesse Arnhem, Swindels failed to break into the Aston Villa team and was limited to just eight appearances in cup competitions.
A bright loan spell at Bristol Rovers followed in the 2024/25 season before subsequent temporary moves to both Exeter City and Chesterfield during the last campaign.
His performances have caught the eye of Sheffield Wednesday and Swindels will now look to kick on after seemingly finding a permanent home.
The 22-year-old Dutch youngster is primarily a centre-back, although he has been known to fill in at left-back and he provides another option for the Owls' promotion push.
