Sheffield United are reportedly set to make a summer move for Everton defender Nathan Patterson.
Boss Chris Wilder is understood to have presented his summer wish-list to the club's hierarchy, with the 24-year-old full-back believed to feature prominently.
The Scottish star joined Everton from Rangers four years ago for a fee in excess of £16 million, but has struggled to cement himself as a first-team regular at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.
Since making his move to Merseyside, Patterson has featured 67 times for the club, although he made just seven Premier League appearances across the 2025/26 campaign having struggled for both form and fitness.
Patterson's Everton future is expected to be resolved following the conclusion of the World Cup with the Toffees understood to be willing to sanction his exit as they attempt to seal a deal for West Ham United's Aaron Wan-Bissaka.
Patterson, who has been named in Steve Clarke's 26-man Scotland squad, is also the subject of interest from Hull City and Serie A side Bologna, with the Blades having now joined the race for his signature.
Sheffield United's interest in the 24-year-old comes amidst talk that a Bramall Lane return for former favourite Kyle Walker appears to be off the cards.
The six-time Premier League winner has a year left on his deal with Burnley after joining from Manchester City last summer, although they could look to cut ties with the former England international following relegation due to his large salary.
It was recently reported that United held an interest in sealing a return for Walker, who hails from Sheffield and made his professional debut for the club back in 2009.
However, funding a deal seems nigh-on impossible for the Championship side given the 36-year-old is currently on an estimated £75,000 per week at Turf Moor, leading the Steel City side to look at alternative defensive reinforcements including Patterson.
