Founded in 1867, Sheffield Wednesday Football Club are one of the founding members of the Football League and have won the league title four times and the FA Cup three times, with their last major trophy being the League Cup in 1991.
Playing their home fixtures at Hillsborough Stadium, the club has faced periods of decline and spent time in lower divisions, with the club currently set for a stint in League One, following the earliest Championship relegation in history in 2026.
Sheffield Wednesday have had a number of top players represent them, including Derek Dooley, David Hirst and Chris Waddle, alongside Barry Bannan, who played for and stuck with the Owls during their recent decline and financial issues.
