Barbarians v Wales Prediction, Tips and Bet Builder

Steve Tandy's Wales build up for the first three rounds of the inaugural Nations Championship with an eye-catching clash against the invitational Barbarians at Twickenham.

It is not a full-strength Wales by any means taking on the Baa-Baas and looking to build on their Six Nations-concluding 31-17 win over Italy, their only victory in another poor campaign.

Tandy will have one eye on next week's Nations Championship opener against Fiji in Cardiff, but would love to go into that game with a win against a Barbarians team featuring 19 internationals from 11 different countries.

Barbarians vs Wales Tips Summary

Best Bet - Barbarians -1.5 @ 1/1
Alternative Bet - Jeremy Ward to Score a Try @ 6/4
Bet Builder - Andrew Kellaway to Score a Try, Over 73.5 Points, Ellis Mee to Score a Try, Barbarians to Win Either Half @ 5/1

Barbarians vs Wales Prediction

Best Bet: Barbarians -1.5 @ 1/1

Two-time World Cup winner Faf de Klerk leads a Barbarians team out at Twickenham, a team that looks more than good enough to beat Wales and cover the 2.5-point spread.

Former All Black coach Scott Robertson has named a star-studded Baa-Baas with a physically imposing pack and a pair of wingers in Virimi Vakatawa and Andrew Kellaway who can turn on the after-burners when the ball starts getting chucked around as it invariably does.

The Barbarians ran in five tries in a game in South Africa last week and scored 31 points - and still lost heavily.

That 80-31 loss, however, was a different weekend against a very different opponent and they can have fun at Twickenham in what should be another high-scoring affair.

Alternative Bet: Jeremy Ward to Score a Try @ 6/4

Stade Francais center Jeremy Ward finished his Top14 season in style and can carry on his try-scoring form for the Barbarians.

The New Zealander scored 11 tries for Stade in 2025/26 including in six of his last nine matches.

In a fixture in which the ball traditionally gets chucked around more than in a normal international, Ward will get his hands on the ball and is a fair price to cross at 6/4.

Barbarians vs Wales Bet Builder Tip

  • Andrew Kellaway to Score a Try

  • Over 73.5 Points

  • Ellis Mee to Score a Try

  • Barbarians to Win Either Half

Pays 5/1

Wallabies' wing Andrew Kellaway scored two of the Barbarians' five tries against South Africa in Gqeberha last weekend.

And if he's a handful for the mighty Springbok defence then he's going to be a handful for the Welsh and should be taken to score a try.

There were 75 points scored when Barbarians last played Wales, 111 when the Baa-Baas played last week and in perfect playing conditions at Twickenham expect these two sides to soar past 73.5 points.

Ellis Mee is going to be a threat on the left wing for Wales and can add to the three tries he has scored since the turn of year.

And if the Baa-Baas win the match then clearly they win either half, a safety net addition to the Bet Builder should the 80-minute bet miss out.
